What is a Mood Board and how can it be used?
When you are given a design brief to work from the 1st thing you will need to do is to begin research. You can gather research using a range of tools such as the internet, magazines, photographs and books.
The research can be in the form of pictures, words and colours that all reflect your chosen theme or the target group you are designing for.
Once laid out on paper your collection of research can be placed how ever you want it. I find a good way is to collage them together as seen in my 2 examples.
One mood board reflects teenage girls and includes everything i think they are interested in. What colours and products i associate with them.
They can then be used to give you ideas for designing. For examples of how I have used research to inspire me look here.
